For their first time on Liteboats with MEC rowing club, on the Danube (Hungary), kids were pretty amazed by the secure feeling these boats are giving them.
MEC is the short name for Technical University Rowing Club, founded in 1910. It was Hungary’s first colllege-type rowing student sports community.
They place special emphasis on sports according to age characteristics: playfulness , special strengthening exercises to prevent injuries, habituation to independence and responsibility, teamwork and value-based community building. Their mission: combining old rowing traditions and modern knowledge, to build a community according to the ideal of “good student, good athlete”.
They run school holiday programs for kids, age 10-14yrs and they are looking to organise a“kids sprint race“ competition later in June with a separate category just for Liteboat boats.
MEC is the first club with a Liteboat boat as they find it perfect for beginners.
